Sunday Rides depart from Amazon Park

20th Annual Blackberry bRamble

(shuttle available from Richardson Park or directions will be provided at Tour de Lane check-in)

Sunday is the day to leave Richardson Park, but the cycling isn't over. Not by any means. Tour de Lane is proud to support Eugene's premier cycling club GEARs (Greater Eugene Area Riders). All Tour de Lane riders are entered to participate in their 20th Annual Blackberry bRamble event, which supports their year round community education and ride programs.

This day-long bikefest offers riders a variety of routes from which to choose:

  • The Wolf Creek Century
  • The Poodle Creek Metric Century
  • The Crow Loop 40 Miler
  • or you may choose one of several social or community rides.

The Bramble Routes

You climb slowly out of the Willamette Valley with a scenic view of Eugene below and then pass into the farms and vineyards of the Lorane Valley. The Wolf Creek Century riders will leave the metric riders and head to the small town of Lorane for their first rest stop. From Lorane they follow lightly traveled roads along the Siuslaw River under a full forest canopy. Wolf Creek is a strenuous climb followed by an exciting descent.

Near the rest stop in Crow the 100 mile riders rejoin the metric and Coyote riders who have been enjoying rolling countryside and not the strains of Wolf Creek. After the Crow food stop, the two centuries join to travel up Vaughn Road and Poodle Creek Road. The ride continues through forest and hills to the third rest stop at Fern Ridge Reservoir. The last 23 miles is a flat ride in the Willamette Valley, usually with a tail wind to assist the weary. The third ride returns to Eugene along Coyote Creek. The rides end at Amazon Park with a delicious Blackberry pie and ice cream treat while you socialize with other riders. If you want you'll be able to take a shower or go for a swim after your ride.

The Community Ride Route

Exploring the back roads, neighborhoods, and paths of the greater Eugene area. This years route is being determined now…. Free ice cream and blackberry pie at the end of the ride and FREE entry into Amazon Pool!

At the finish of the bRamble, Tour de Lane riders will have access to a specially designated area with light refreshments and a chance to see your fellow riders one last time to say good-bye. Explore the bRamble festival area and enjoy the ride's signature blackberry pie and ice cream given to all riders.

*NOTE: Tour de Lane participants do NOT need to register separately for the Blackberry bRamble. You are automatically signed up when you register for Tour de Lane.
